My life is my family. We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and without this church, my life wouldn't be as full or have as much meaning. I went on a mission to Niue island, a part of the New Zealand North Mission in 1989, and there I spent hours each day reading the Book of Mormon while teaching Niueans how to read English and play the piano. That year was amazing and changed many areas of my life. I am the oldest of 6 children of Roberta Pace Vande Voort and Wally Hartman and I can't imagine my life without a single one of them.
Unfortunately, in June 2003, my younger sister Christy lost a year long fight to colon cancer. She was one of my best friends and I miss her a lot, but I know she's out of pain and in a beautiful place while she waits for us to finish up our time here. This is her family in June 2002
